I've watched videos on youtube where they show you all the shite they will attach to my head. I find it impossible to believe that I will be able to sleep in a strange bed, with people watching me, connected to all sorts of crazy machines.

Will I be able to bring my own pillow? Teddy bear?

Oh, and they want me there at 7.30pm. WTF???? Please tell me there's a TV.

My dad had one a while back. He said if you move at all while you are sleeping that the headgear is very painful and have a few old newspapers to read.

There is a tv. Pretty miserable night as they wake you up repeatedly to try different stuff. I had no trouble going back to sleep though.

Can you show up drunk? That will help you go to sleep much easier.

If I had to do it I would worry about sleep. To be clear, I'd worry about insomnia.

Nothing unexpected if you've ever been probed by aliens.

There was no tv in my room. It’s not that bad though

I didn’t find anything painful and they never woke me up. I slept fine and I’m a very light sleeper

I did one... I guess maybe 10 years ago. All I did was go there at night and they attached the things they use to monitor, on me.. And I went to bed. They don't really sit there and watch. If I recall they just come check on you, but I was sleeping so I didn't really see or hear them.

All I remember is the lady waking me up telling me it was time to wake up.. I left, went home then to work.

I've done one. You'll probably have some paperwork to sign and then might have a bit of a wait until they get vitals and then get all the monitoring sensors placed. The place I was at had a TV but I never used it. I read a book so I could try to fall asleep faster.

It didn't really work.

They used adhesive paste to keep the sensors on for me; that's not exactly pleasant but not painful either.

It is hard to fall asleep. It was a decent amount of wires leading to the base(?) that was next to the bed so I couldn't turn as much as I like. If you have enough issues while sleeping, they'll wake you up and fit you with a cpap machine and then try to dial in the pressure while you sleep.

Whatever lab you're going to should have that info and probably have some paperwork for you to fill out.

The dude monitoring it told me “I can’t diagnose you but I can say I’ve been doing this for 4 years and you are the loudest snorer by far.”

I thanked him.

I did one at home, wasn't bad at all. Hardest part was sleeping on my back, I'm a side sleeper.
