I’m a teacher, BIL’s a lawyer, other BIL’s a nurse, dad was a teacher, uncle a politician, grandpaw was a cop, and I never came across a pedophile priest during 12 years of Catholic school. As far as I know none of us are pieces of societal shite who have abused the public trust, so are we exceptions to the rule? Or are the stories we all read the sensational exceptions to the vast majority?

I agree with you. I also have immediate family members in all 4 listed plus Lawyers and Doctors which are professions I didn’t list for this thread. I just wanted to know which attracts the worst people. As for Priests, I don’t know any that have been accused of any crime. I listed it because of the perception of the Catholic Priest nowadays. The only opinion I had was about nurses and they definitely have a too many bad apples for such an important profession with major responsibilities like as in life or death.

Ok fine. All four professions I listed are pure. I learn something everyday.
Professional athletes, lawyers, car salesmen, Hollywood producers and others may be the worst and the others I listed may the least morally corrupt. But they aren’t the subject of my thread.

The sketchiest professions are the ones most likely to attract felons:
Garbage men
Kitchen workers
Warehouse workers
Offshore oil workers
The employees probably have committed more crime per capita than any other profession. Other professions get the headlines when outliers break the public trust.

Hospital administrators.In my 35 year hospital career only worked under one that gave a crap about the patients recieving quality care.The rest only cared about the bottom line and their performance bonuses.They typically are bullshite artists,extrodinaire.The employees that actually did patient care were considered financial liabilities and the goal was to have the bare minimum on duty.I always wondered why they din’t go into politics,most of them would have excelled.
