There were Nurses that were stealing the pain medication from senior citizens in retirement homes and giving the patients placebos instead. It was very common.

Lol, nurses are like the most trusted profession. Above doctors.

Not saying they should be. But they legit are.

Middle age nurses are hitting both.

You are dead on with this one.

I'd love to share a story about my experience working with job recruiters, but it would be too long.

But an engineering firm I worked for also had a recruiting department. The recruiting manager was a complete bitch. She convinced this woman to leave her job, which she worked at for over 20 years, to come work for her. Three weeks later she had to let the woman go. Come to find out she hired her because she was trying to give the impression her office was busy and needed more people, because they were considering cutting some of her department.

But that's just an example of how shitty those people were.

No one who does a good job gets in the news. Good news doesn’t generate views, which generates hysteria, which generates money for media outlets. The cops, teachers, nurses and preists who are devoted and do their jobs to the best of their ability don’t get the attention.

Money guys. VC people. Stockbrokers. Hedge funders.

Those are practically 3 completely different professions.

The legitimate VC's are mostly full of former (and successful) entrepreneurs, engineers, software developers, healthcare innovators, and the like. Working for a VC fund is a difficult job to do well, and the ones I know tend to work like crazy. If you're talking private equity, then that's a bit of a different conversation compared to a pure VC.

Stockbrokers are an endangered species if not extinct.

"Hedge funds" covers a wide spectrum of investment philosophies, but the ones I know who work for bigger and legitimate funds tend to be big-time math nerds, statisticians, and oddballs (and really, really smart). Not necessarily finance douchebags. They get a (sometimes deserved) bad rap because some of them will play a lot in distressed industries and companies, but that's a relatively small fraction of that industry. A futures algo hedge fund is a completely different beast drawing an entirely different kind of person compared to a distressed industrials hedge fund.

I'm a nurse. I don't use narcotics. I don't steal meds. I hold your mom or dad's hand and tell them they are going to pull through this and that I will help take care of them. I leave my kids and husband at 2 am and drive 100 miles an hour, risking my life, to try to help. I could have got elite finance, or law. Don't act like we are all addicts that lack heart or dedication. Finally, frick you.
