Sketchiest professions (Public and Private Trust Division)

Politicians, lawyers and even prostitutes are in a different category than this one.
ETA: not sure how to label this category but mainly the 4 below.
Catholic Priests may be unbeatable in this division.
Police Officers get mostly negative attention.
Teachers are getting the latest headlines.
Nurses are my pick for the the most underrated pieces of shite.
*I have family in 3 out of 4 of these and I’m sure the good outnumber the bad by a large margin with all of these professions*
This is my argument for nurses being a huge threat.
Thread about the Vanderbilt nurse killing her patient is just another black eye for the profession. Nurse charged in negligent homicide It’s not the first time nurses have made headlines for this.
Also that male RN that got that lady in a vegetative state pregnant and arrested a few weeks ago. Nurse arrested for rape after a long term vegetative patient has baby
Personal experience:
I dated an RN for a few years and she always came home with vials of Dilauded with about one-fifth of it still in the vial. When asked, it was always that she forgot to dispose of it but it was the only medication she would bring home. I was nieve. (Yes, she cheated on me, not even mad) She lost her license later for, I believe, stealing narcotics. It all made sense after that when I found out she was an addict.
But I also know personally 3 other RN’s who lost their license over narcotic related incidents. I just have the opinion that nurses get away with much more than what is reported.
I’ve seriously lost trust with nurses. I’ve had bad experiences with nurses and police officers and the current friends and family that are in those are great and honest people.
Am I in the minority on my nurse opinion?

What profession are you in? Because you certainly are representing them as an a-hole

I’d probably say insurance.

It does make it sound like I am hating. I’m married to a nurse and I’ve got 6 close family members that are teachers and law enforcement. I just got to thinking about this subject.

My wife runs an Allstate Insurance agency.
I tell her all the time that she’s in the business of unicorns and rainbows.

I know a lot of teachers and law enforcement m. No nurses.
The worst professionals are the lazy no matter what profession.

People have to trust their life with doctors, nurses and police officers.
Teachers are trusted with our children.
Priests are trusted with our kids.
Maybe my title is not the best choice of words but I’m just asking to see if others feel the same.

My buddy's wife got into the same drug-related problems.

Dated a nurse once upon a time and the drug thing is probably pretty common.
She had a cabinet with tons of random drugs from the hospital for all sorts of various things.
My sciatic nerve was killing me one time to point where going from probe to standing was awful. She said she could give me a shot of some such drug. So of course, i was skeptical of what she was giving me so i did some reading on what it would do and sure enough seemed good to go.
Got the shot from her right there in her house and it worked like a charm. The muscles around the SI joint in my back relaxed and i could pop my back and the sciatic nerve relaxed all in one night instead of several days of being in pain.
I would have probably had to see 3 separate care providers before someone gave me something like that and it would have cost money.

I am a small demographic but many I knew had substance abuse issues. older ones hit the bottle and younger ones hit the pills.

Seems to be a big problem with nurses. I can actually understand the temptation getting to some of them.

Drug dealers, hit men, Democrats, Nick Saban and Roger Goodell types are another catagory from my options. More along the lines of who we rely on full trust for our health and our children’s health and well being. Priests should be the most trusted to be alone with our children but it seems like that wasn’t a smart idea. As I said before, not all are bad. Just IMO, these jobs require a a large amount of trust and have our’s and our kids lives in their hands. Trust is about the most important qualification in these professions.

Ma’am, I’m assuming you are a nurse since it is the only one I gave my opinion on. I listed the others because of what we see in the headlines and understand why they are thought of negatively a lot. Just asking for opinions since it’s a message board.
