As an 8 year old, cresting the ramp to nosebleed seating at Yankee stadium.

I agree. Also Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches.

Grand Canyon first came to mind. I'll add Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone

Before opening the thread the Grand Canyon was my thought as well. The size was unreal and I didn't even see a fraction of it. The sheer cliffs and depths it goes to was pretty surreal. And I'm from Texas where if we even have a small step they put a guard rail up. Opposed to the Grand Canyon where you are free to fall and die virtually anywhere you go.

Many people that I meet, from outside Louisiana, say the causeway shocked them. They felt uneasy once they made it around the 8 mile mark. They were not ready to be on a roadway and lose sight of land.

The Badlands. Seems so out of place in South Dakota.

The Grand Canyon is my most obvious and best answer. As a less obvious runner up, the first time I walked out of a subway tunnel in the middle of Manhattan. I thought I knew what to expect, but I couldn't help but stare upwards and feel a bit overwhelmed.

The Grand Canyon is the sole place that has legitimately shocked me. Pictures do it zero justice.
Glacier NP has some sights that make you think you’re dreaming.
Switzerland everywhere is a postcard that is hard to fathom.
