Some may want to make fun of this but disconnecting is what is NEEDED IMO.
I’m happy the young adults are doing it and I hope it starts the pendulum swinging the direction of being more disconnected.
This is a great thing.

Why does every mundane thing they do have to have a special name?

Because of the things that this disconnects them from.

Kids these days get an iPad shoved in their face the minute they start fussing.
Shame on their parents.
Here is a news flash for you. Boomers aren't the first generation to shite on younger generations.

This
It seems incredibly difficult for younger generations to be alone with their own thoughts. They've always had instant access to stimuli.
It's not a surprise why so many have anxiety, depression, etc.
If it takes a Tik tok trend to make them simply walk with their own thoughts, at least they'r realizing how valuable it is to get away from technology.

Welcome to the 90s kid.
All that shite after her name other than TikTok, AirPods, podcasts, and music I don't know what the rest of any of that means.

This narcissistic bitch wants to take credit for walking?

Good idea. I do this every day, but with a drink and a dog. It is much easier to chat with your neighbors or just contemplate your day without your phone or earbuds.

They call it “silent walking”, that is: going for a walk without their phones, or without listening to music, podcasts, or any sort of technological distraction.
I think this is healthy for a generation who has had mobile phones and iPads in front of them their entire lives.

If there’s one thing Gen Z knows how to do, it’s rehashing and renaming trends.
They try to make normal everyday activities "trendy."
I support trying it if it makes healthy habits trendy.

AI is going to wipe out humanity soon. Just let them have this.

I’ve been hated on this very board for saying this. But I never allowed my kids to leave the house with their phones except special situations. When I say leave the house, I mean they are not allowed to have phones outside period. My 12 year old doesn’t have one yet but same will be with him. I’m laid back in every other aspect of my children’s lives except screen time, especially phones and tablets or whatever those things are

I love all the shitting Boomers do on younger generations
I'm GenX, not a Boomer, but I find it baffling how the younger generations keep inventing things that have existed for a long time. I understand the generational need for differentiation and making up your own terminology for things, but this seems to be more than new words. How are these kids so out of the loop that they think they're actually inventing/discovering these things?

Bed Rotting is simply just spending the day in bed doing absolutely nothing; and not necessarily sleeping. Our parents just referred to us as couch potatoes when we did it
My Dad called it "Get the frick out of bed and do something!" Really, he found out, one day when I was almost 30 that I was still in bed at 10am and he called to tell me to get up and stop wasting my life. He suggested golf or fishing or whatever but just staying in bed."
He lived a full life.

I may only do it 2-3 times a year (not counting being sick) but when I do, it’s winter time. I will lay in the bed till noon or so, mostly just talking to wife. I’m normally a wake up at 5 am and got things to do but I know for a fact New Year’s Day I’m laying up all morning. Personally, part of living a full life is enjoying conversations with wife, humor, etc.
