That's a story right there. What happened?

Found this looking up the restaurant. Todd Wessinger shot and killed two coworkers and wounded another. He was put on death row.

There was another one on Perkins at Essen. At least until a disgruntled dishwasher locked several of his coworkers in the freezer and executed them all.

Yeah, I remember this.

Wessinger had once worked as a dishwasher at Calendar's Restaurant on Perkins Road near Essen Lane. He went to the restaurant before it opened on Nov. 19, 1995, to rob the place.

He killed manager Stephanie Guzzardo, who was on the phone with a 911 operator and could be heard begging for her life as he forced his way into the restaurant's office and shot her.

He fatally shot cook David Breakwell and injured Mark Armentor. One other employee escaped injury because Wessinger's gun malfunctioned.

My mistake. He must’ve put the bodies in the freezer after he shot them.

Well, that's bad, but slightly less chilling.

Its the restaurant business. Most fail.

While true, I dont think that applies directly to this situation.

Based on whats being reported it looks like they caused their own failure.

And if you are getting kick backs from the COA, you definitely are doing some shady shite.

Isn't that the place that hosted the BLM rally.

Good riddance.

Before that site became the abomination that was Boil and Roux, it was a lovely little restaurant named Calendars.

I could swear there was another restaurant at that location after Calendars closed in 2011 before it became Boil & Roux in 2014...but I can't remember the name. Maybe I'm thinking of another place near there...

They claimed to be a black owned business and made it well known. They advertised to support their black owned business, not because the food was good, but because they were black owned.

Well the blacks didn't support them and now they blame everyone.

It had potential but was never as good as the original Monroe location.

But the Calendar’s Plantation Salads with homemade honey mustard was the best.

Would love that recipe.

I don’t give a shite who owns a restaurant when it comes to race or ethnicity. My wife and I gave it two tries years ago and both times everything about it was awful. Bad service, shite food, and filthy inside

Bad service, shite food, and filthy inside....and y'all went back for a second try?

What in the hell for?

the only reason they had the COA catering contract in the first place is because they’re black. One of my clients attempted to bid and was told not to bother

So they’re renting that building and the owner allowed them to paint that stuff in the parking lot? Not the best decision by ownership.

If you read the comments, notice that almost all the black people leaving comments call themselves “Digital Creators”. What is that? Amateur Rappers?
