Does Shreveport bring anything to the table? I'm genuinely curious

I am sure the state would like to keep the oil and gas revenue it receives from the parishes in NW Louisiana so yeah Shreveport does bring something to the table.

We in Memphis have some of, if not THE best tap water in the country. It’s due to the crazy naturally occurring filtration that our aquifer has.

North LA has God awful tap water for some reason.

Nah. We’re on Claiborne water district on the lake. It’s a fairly new service so no 100 year old iron pipes in the system. Really good water.

It wasn’t that bad 5-10 years ago. The stank is relatively new.

The tap water in southwest Texas smells like crap and has to taste awful. I didn't drink it, I stuck with bottled water.

Aquifer nothing, I have whole house filtration and the trash those filters catch is amazing.

We moved from North Bossier to South Shreveport last year. The water here tastes horrible. And yes, it makes the drinks at restaurants and fast food taste shitty as well. I don’t even give it to my dogs, just get it from the filtered fridge tap. Bossier water is fine.

Being from N LA, I can state with some ldegreevof certainty that Shreveport is a shithole. I would never to choose to live East of the Texas border. Truthfully, I love LA but cannot find any area of the state where I would classify as highly desirable for relocation.

Years of poor leadership, stymied economic growth and a stratification of wealth is allowing the entire place to crumble, including the water system. Every city in the state is faring about as poorly so there is little hope of rapid improvement

I live in Shreveport now and have no problem drinking it. I previously worked in Natchitoches for several years. THAT is the worst water I have ever seen

Used to work there a couple nights ago month, would bring 8-10 gallons of spring water to shower/wash in for each night. The front desk ladies at the courtyard always laughed and shook their heads when I checked in.

You should go toward Yuma AZ, El Paso TX and that area.. All water tastes like dirt. In fact any water from the American SW sucks.

Shreveport gets its water from Cross Lake. In late December there was an unexpected late algae bloom in the lake. This follows a high level of magnesium in the water earlier this year. Water Dept says the problem should go away soon.
