Not defending either of these cities, but much of these types of lists are due to suburb growth, bot really people leaving the areas.

All the songs written that mention Shreveport, are about leaving. Even the saying "Elvis has left the building" is about Elvis leaving the Louisiana Hayride, which was in Shreveport. We should give it back to Texas.

Would BR's numbers be down because St. George pulled out of the city's numbers?

That's a common misconception that the together-BR people have put in people's heads via propaganda. The entire area that is St. George has never been part of the city of BR. So no, St. George didn't pull from BR's numbers, and St. George isn't separating from the city.

Mobile, Montgomery, and Birmingham in AL all make the shrinking list.

White flight to the burbs in these too.

I'm so glad I don't live in any city right now. As Merle Haggard sang, "I'm tired of this dirty old city".

We are planning to do a huge multi family move in about 2 years.

Shouldn’t Baton Rouge numbers be going up due to annexing all those neighborhoods that didn’t want to be part of St George?

Why? There’s nothing here to make people stay.

Not surprised by Shreveport, a bit surprised by BR.

BR is a shithole, if you like to hunt and fish Shreveport is awesome, quick drive to Dallas, not bad really if you have money.

I'd rather live in BR than Shreveport by a fairly wide margin

This topic has been brought up before, specifically with the Alabama cities, and people were shite on for suggesting that bland, midsize cities in California and Texas were gobbling up the people that were financially able to relocate.

Fine with me. Less traffic

Those leaving BR aren't going very far, so we'll still have God-awful traffic.

I'd rather take a bubble bath with a toaster than live in Shreveport by a fairly wide margin.
