It astounds what women will pay for a hot milk shake.

both of my kids work at Starbucks. all tips they receive are equally distributed with all employees based on the hours they worked

i think they told me at one time that the tips money they receive averages just under a $1 for every hour they work.

You cheapskates sure are proud of flaunting how cheap you are.

If you go there often then tipping would be a good idea. I agree that tipping is getting out of control, but I am making sure I get taken care of at places I frequent

You may as well buy a fancy machine for your house to make fancy coffee drinks. It'll pay for itself really quickly considering you're spending 7 bucks a day on a grande mocha

If you order something that is over 3 words or requires special instructions, tip.

Every restaurant, coffee shop, fast food place that has a tablet also has a “question on the screen for you answer.” We all know.

I go to my local coffee shop every day.

I've never tipped.

I think they are getting enough from me already

I ordered a black coffee from starbucks, went through the drive thru, $3 and change. I hand them my card, they ask if I would like to leave a tip… for what? For pouring a pot of coffee into a cup?

If you’re having them make you some sort of ridiculous latte you should absolutely tip. That’s more work than what bartenders do to make a drink. If it’s just a drip coffee then I wouldn’t worry about tip.

It depends. Some folks do not. Some folks feel grateful and believe anybody that prepares food or drink, or cuts hair or touches you or your life in anyway, deserves a tip. Some folks are so happy they tip people that don’t even deserve a tip. Some folks give a big tip every once in a while just for the pure joy of giving or providing a break to a member of the working poor. We all get to decide what makes US happy.

For a cup of drip, very little effort required I tip 0 to $1 but if I ever get one of those crazy things that requires all kinds of work I would tip more.

You might ought to remove all those dept store credit cards and the 20 or so old school 2"x3" pictures of your cousins.

Good lord!
Tip a $1 if you feel like it. This isn’t such a huge emotional and financial decision many of you make it out to be.

Do they make the same amount per hour as waiters? No. I feel like they are trying to con people with the option to tip and I don't feel bad or care about looking like an arse if I don't tip.

What are you tipping them for? Not jumping over the counter and dumping hot coffee on you?

I spent $500 + tax on a Breville Barista Express a year ago and it has paid itself off already compared to what I would get if I were to get the equivalent at Starbucks.

As it pertains to the topic, tip anyone that is a barsita, especially during peak hours. At least rounding up or a dollar would suffice IMO.
