It would be like letting a stranger in your house and then that person shoots you in the stomach with a revolver. You're saying the stranger and the victim are equally responsible, because although the stranger pulled the trigger, the victim shares in the blame equally for letting them in the house.
That's called rape.
Either that or you're an idiot for telling a stranger to whip their gun out so you can play with it before taking the proper safety precautions to ensure you don't get "shot".

It doesn't work that way, or at least it shouldn't.
Terrible analogy. We're talking about consensual sex. Both parties agree to the act. If we're talking about rape, then your analogy would apply. It doesn't in the scenario we're talking about.

Another thing, if a law like this would be enacted, I'm fairly certain the poorest mothers would be the most affected and guess who would be left to help pick up the bill because some shitty dude couldn't keep his shite in his pants? Ding Ding, the taxpayers...
who do you think is already supporting these kids?

You can always hold on to your sperm. Don't let that shite get away, where it might knock somebody up. Keep a lock on your jizz and you are opting out of fatherhood.

We already do anyway, and will continue to as long as we create the environment for bad decision making.

Swallowing and anal solves a lot of this. That is why I only date chicks who are into one or the other.

It was an analogy and a terrible one.

A man opts in to fatherhood when he puts it in.

and as long as the woman has a legal opt out, so should the man
once the child is brought into the world, its in the child's best interest
The child best interest is not being aborted, but like i said, its two different arguments and right now abortion is legal so the father shouldn't be able to skip out.

I was commenting more on his analogy of the gun being an illegally used penis.

Yea and it would be way worse.

And with a simple procedure, a woman can opt out of her responsibilities to the child.
No possible way for the father to opt out of his responsibilities. Both he and the child have no say in this.

Abortion being legal is exactly why the father should be able to skip out.

men should have the same right as women to decide not to be parents
Don't get a girl pregnant solves this issue 100% of the time. Also doesn't put a burden on taxpayers.

For some of us, it would be a bazooka...for others, a snub nosed .38 revolver.

It's about the care for that child. A woman can accept or reject that care. A man cannot do either.
This post is what it all boils down to.

that is a horrible analogy
Of course it is.
It is an extreme. My point still stands - boys who don't want to be fathers shouldn't be climaxing inside of a woman. This isn't about equality, this is about people who don't want to deal with the consequences of their decisions.
I think it is lazy to say "oh, women can walk away so men should be able to as well." I'm not for anything that makes it easier for men/women to walk away from their responsibility to their child.

Abortion is legal and assume it can't be changed for this argument. Then the mother has the right to have the child or not.
So at our current state if the child is born, then it would be in the best interest of the child to hold the father financially responsible. Its independent of what options the mother has because those can't be changed. Allowing dads to skip out, screws kids over ever more.
