Sure he can do anything he wants with his own property but, recognizing its fame and place in television history, if he's not comfortable owning it as is, he should offer it for sale to someone who is. seems pretty middle of the road and non-confrontational. I take as he doesn't think it's a big deal, but just wanted to avoid any blow-back. Seemed more of a defensive choice than an offensive* one.
