Something needs to change is just a slippery slope to "if it only saves one life" mantra. We live in a free country and terrible stuff like this happens, whether it's an accidental car crash on the interstate, death by food poisoning, etc.

This is a losing battle. Guns, particularly something like an AR-15, are incredibly efficient killing machines. However, there are far too many guns in this country to think any kind of mass ban would do any good.

So Sad. I think Alot of parents will have to start thinking about Home schooling . This is getting out of hand. We all know it will be a bullied kid etc... who was able to get a hold of a gun with little barries etc...

This is a culture issue. How many years have guns been legal? Nothing has changed there. What has changed is a generation of kids growing up with a lack of moral guidance, violent video games, music and movies that promote violence, and when they have issues, they are told to take a safe space cry. There's no accountability or set of standards to mold these kids into decent humans. This is what happens in such a selfish and me first society as we have in modern America.

Why don't we bring back medieval arse torture on these pricks? Mask them. Start off soft with waterboarding. Maybe drown them a time or two and revive them. Then go to pulling their finger and toenails off slowly, pouring salt on the wounds. Maybe finish with drawing and quartering or Vlad the Impler-ing them?
Surely that would be a disincentive? Because I don't know what to do with these animals. They're ideologically averted. Mentally unstable. Parents can't or won't help. Between mental health ramping up and the suggested, that's all I can think of. And if they had no guns, they'd probably take years to serial rape and murder even more people than in these shootings.

I wonder how Chinese school security compares to our schools. I wonder how long it took him to kill 9 by knife... vs the guy in Santa Fe killing 8 (at least) by gun.
