How much looting even occurred before the curfew? If the whole parish doesn't need it, why not patrol the areas that do?
This is stupid. It shouldn't be done unless absolutely necessary, and there's been no proof that it is.
At what stage should the curfew be lifted?

I was on board with it at the beginning, because you know our LEO's were stretched to their limits by Monday/Tuesday. Now, it's just getting ridiculous. It's not like BR is a lawless war zone like Nola was after Katrina.

The law enforcement has had its work cut out for the over them past few days, man. The last thing they need to be worried about you arse-clowns at Bogie's drinking and driving. If they lift the curfew, they'll have to put more officers in areas that are more likely to be looted...and more officers patrolling the areas of bars.
Spreading them too thin. Give these guys a break. We're not even a week into this thing - quit your bitching about a 12:00 curfew.

bullshite. His department doesn't patrol the city of Baton Rouge, which is largely what needs to be out from under this curfew. BRPD patrols the city limits. frick that excuse.

I didn't realize they were the only ones working crazy hours. Friends drove in from out of town to help but I only have them for a week, so we absolutely are not stopping early for a curfew. Last time I checked I was a grown up, and if I needed to work until 2am I don't really give a shite what the sheriff thinks about it.

How about the police quit their bitching about being spread too thin. They signed up for this shite, if they don't like it they can quit.

It was addressed in last nights thread that people going to and from work are not affected by the curfew.

Again, if you read the rules of the curfew, you can work. No one is stopping you.

It was also addressed that if your industry needs patrons, then those same people cant work.
There was also the advocate report where people are begging to work but cant because businesses cant be open during the curfew and expect people to frequent their establishment.

I have no problem with it.
I'm guessing the only folks whining about it, are less than 30, probably don't own a house, and want to go get drunk tonight. Which is fine.
There's a lot of folks in this parish that are working their butts off to gut and clean their homes and their friend's homes. The last thing they need to worry about are looters.
This curfew simply helps give cops a reason to pull someone over who looks like they're in a place they don't belong... Which hopefully, will in itself, keep them from going there.
If this is bothering you so badly, go help someone rip out carpet and sheetrock for several hours, and maybe you'll feel like getting some shuteye about midnight.
Worse case, get drunk at home.

I'm over 30, own a home, and think enforcing a curfew for the entire parish is dumb.
