Whatever floats their boat. The businesses aren't being forced to shut down. After midnight, You just have to stay there until 6 am.
It's the owners call when to close.

The people are free to go to the casino and gamble their lives away from 12-6. They just can't leave until 6.
Same applies for bars.

Bars can't stay open after 2.

ETA: You're being obtuse with this argument.

I don't know the law 100%, but I'm sure they just have to stop serving alcohol at 2, correct?

And this somehow seems reasonable to you?

I don't think so.
But even if they don't have to physically remove patrons at 2am, isn't the effect the same?
"Ok, no more alcohol, but you can stay and hang out for 4 more hours."

Regardless of business being able to stay open moving a curfew back to 12am and having it be full of exceptions is bullshite. Sid is just enjoying his unchallenged power.

4 hours is a good amount of time to sober up before driving home.
People can still hangout and listen to music, play on their phones, etc.
There are ways around the curfew, but it's easier to just sit back and bitch because you're being slightly inconvenienced in the middle of a natural disaster fallout.

What do you want to do so bad after midnight?

I wouldn't mind being able to hit up Louie's tonight after moving ruined furniture to the street.

We had to stop gutting a house last night to get back before the curfew. We were still rolling at 930.

Id like to talk a calming midnight walk around LSU to get my mind off the disaster.

Obtuse because you have no rebuttal. There are absolutely ways around most of the effects of the curfew, you just don't want to see them.
You can keep trying to poke a hole in any argument I post, but the fact remains, you just don't want to be (theoretically) inconvenienced, and you think the curfew is stupid regardless.

I don't want to do anything "so badly" after midnight. But I've taken full advantage of the 24 hour Wallgreens or Wal Mart's near my house for odds and ends in the wee hours of the morning (Ran out of OTC meds, batteries for a smoke alarm that went off, etc.)
