Erythromycin would probably clear that up for you.

Not sure about Rubicon, but as a pharmacist, I always recommend Norco

Wasn’t there a phosgene release at BASF years ago that was pretty nasty? I remebetbeing told that was seriously bad shite when I made sales calls out there.

It is seriously bad shite. Rubicon also makes aniline (also seriously bad shite).

At a refinery you might get blown up
At an MDI plant you might get blown up, die from phosgene inhalation, die from aniline dripping down your neck and not noticing, die from formaldehyde, or die from cancer at 42 years old.

Rubicon is the only plant I’ve had to wear rubber steel toes in. They have some really nasty shite there.

I would never act like refineries are risk-free.
In my mind the big chemical hazards at refineries are H2S and HF acid (for refineries with HF alky units). You don’t want to frick with either. But I don’t think She’ll Norco has an HF alky unit, and I’ll take my chances with the relatively small amount of H2S they handle over lines full of analine and phosgene.

Norco, no question.
What unit?
What unit?

I hope it won’t be a Pyrrhic victory for you & me!

What's a few thousand ppm, man up.

Some of the Rubicon operators got a Turner maintenance hand to tie a line in to a hand rail. They are that dumb. They had one of our Turner turnaround crews demo the wrong line twice.
That’s fricking great! ??

A few thousand ppm in the pipe, which is a hell of a lot less after a release. Compared to a line that’s 100% phosgene or analine, yeah.
For the record, the published IDLH concentration for H2S is 100 ppm. Phosgene is 2 ppm.

I have no idea of the numbers, but I would bet exposure death to H2S outpaces freddy.
I'm not trivializing either, but once you are dead you are dead. It doesn't matter how.
