I've lived all over the country. TX and LA are far from the greatest places to live.
Geaux1, that response was for Leon Spinks. I responded to your question further down. The complex has already made offers so our best bet is BRPO now.
BRPO,smaller plant with more of a family oriented feel. The safety record of the plant surpasses the rest. Also it's a four year progression in pay unlike the four year apprenticeship with the complex. The apprenticeship limits you.
I accepted the offer with Shell. Starting in a couple weeks. I interviewed with the Exxon complex three weeks ago and Exxon BRPO last week.
Shells pension is less then Exxon but I don't know by how much.
Yeah I hope that's not a trend
The question was directed toward one person. This is a discussion board and it was your decision to read the post. I apologize that I have attractive options and don't have connections in these particular plants to ask questions. Thanks again for your attention.
Any thoughts on the Shell Norco Refinery Alky unit?
I guess you started out in the industry as an expert with no questions. Good job
This I have considered, I'm looking at moving to Prairieville
I've heard the same thing and Shell Norco is better to work for in this aspect
Didn't know the apprenticeship role was that long. So I'm guessing it takes at least 4 years to top out. Does Exxon usually lean towards younger candidates because of this?
Yeah it was pretty shocking to me. I have plenty of friends that have been Operators for years trying to get on with Shell & Exxon with no luck.
Shell Norco is for the refinery side and the Exxon interview says the main complex. I'm thinking that's the refinery but may be wrong. I know they have separate interviews for the Plastics and BRPO locations. Thanks for all the info!!
Yeah don't plan on going back to school I'm mid 30's. I have a Bachelor's not related to the industry and an associate's in process Technology. I can't take anymore school mentally or financially.
I don't want to post numbers on here
