Sort of. But the part of "women holding men to a higher standard" we've lost is that women can't sleep around without consequences either.
Men will commit to women for stable permanent relationships when social pressures and women's choices make this necessary to get sex.
Men may refuse to commit if their commitment isn't reciprocal. Meaning that your laws and cultural norms can't provide financial or other incentives for divorce.

What’s even more odd is the media keeps putting sleezy slimeballs like Sharpe on tv. There’s a bunch of people like him that don’t deserve a platform. They wonder why ratings are plummeting and networks are having to cancel different shows.
