But it’s no small thing. St. George revenues contribute 20% of the $322 million general fund, or more than $64 million. Some 55% of those revenues are basically untouchable, however, because they go to police and fire protection.
BR Business reporting SG revenues higher than the 48-54 million previously reported.

And THIS is why St. G people are pissed. 55% of their taxes go to things that don’t directly benefit them. BRPD and BRFD don’t service their area.

$64m / 80,000 taxpayers = $800 per taxpayer.
Anyone want to calculate NBR’s contributions to the general fund?

So during the lead up to the election, the opposition was low-balling how much money they were stealing? Shocker.

That was going to tow a lot of parked cars, provide night lamps, and open bike trails for those of the less fortunate. SWB needs to schedule a nice luncheon meeting on how to stop the corruption that is: St George.

If BRBR is correct

Bingo. More control over local taxes and eventually, a good school system. Those are the reasons for the St George movement. Very simple.

That one nerdy chick who writes for BR business dealio is super anti-STG, and really Woke. I read a link posted on here by her, and it was embarrassing how slanted it was, which led me to her twitter account, LOL

So is it 18% or 20%? I have seen both figures.
2% of $322m is almost $6.5m. Thats a decent chunk of change

This begs a number of questions.
The immediate ones I am thinking of are “Will BRPD and BRFD take a combined $35m pay cut?” and, if not, “Where will the money come from to plug that hole?”.
If SWB tries to argue that St George leaving would be catastrophic to BR, it should be thrown right back in her face that St George residents were subsidizing both groups by a total of $440 per year for services they weren’t receiving.
