You are not going to find better dependability out there then the 5.3.

I'm a Suburban owner... pushed over 300k miles on first one and sold it running great but no A/C.

I'll be close to 300k on my current suburban by the end of the year if I hold on to it.

ETA: I have 4 kids and are great for long trips.

Link? For 3 of the 4 crash tests, the Sequioa has no ranking.

Mrs magicman has a Yukon xl and it's been awesome. She was nervous about driving such a huge vehicle but it's really nimble for a big vehicle. What's nice about it and the suburban is the room you have with all three rows up. Not having to sacrifice a third row for cargo space is awesome. Also, it tows my 22' bay boat better than my z71.

I've had a few tahoes and had tons of problems with them. And it seems the interiors are more cheaply made compared to the other brands. I'd go with Toyota all day long.

I put 300k miles on a Yukon xl w the 5.3L. Towards the end the motor's lifters were slapping when I'd get to hwy speeds. The noise was pretty loud but TBH that damn motor was pretty bulletproof

Also, GM placed an AC system in their large SUVs that could cryogenically freeze your fam on the way to Walmart

Fit/fixtures wear out faster on GMs so be prepared for buttons to wear out and leather to crack after 100k miles

I've owned a 2004 Sequioa limited and it was one of the best vehicles I've ever owned

You're worried about the dependability of a GM truck??

Hahahahaha

That's pretty much the best thing they have going for them.

Sequoias have that dumb magic school bus look to them.

Personally I don't see how this is a competition. If you need to put 2 kids on the third row AND have room for luggage, your only choice is a Suburban. Or the Expedition EL.

If you're choosing between a Tahoe and a Sequoia then there's a debate to be had regarding longevity, etc. I would go with the Chevy because the Toyota is absolutely ancient.

Honda Odyssey. Can't beat minivan doors for little ones.
