If she sits there, is respectable, and doesn't try to leave, nothing happens. Its the "frick the police" attitude. Sucks she even got pulled over but dont try to leave when an officer is clearly talking to you. Thats just common sense that doesnt apply to kids these days.
I have seen a lot of police videos, and I have dealt with a good amount of police officers. And, I got to tell you, the officer's demeanor in that video is pretty aggressive from the jump.

Maybe it isn't about money, bro. I mean, what happened to her is pretty humiliating and pretty horrific.
Did y'all see the 60 Minutes special last night on Chinese Americans being wrongfully accused by the FBI for private business espionage? They ruined their lives on bullshite, shoddy, shallow investigations. It was horrible. Would you tell them that any lawsuit they filed would be just about the money?
Haha look who you're talking to dude

I'd be annoyed too if some cop stopped me while I was just riding through a parking lot
If the owner had complained about kids bikes through his or her parking lot and wanted them to stop then I can see the point of stopping the kid and explaining the rules and to get out. Maybe this is the 40th time she's been told.
Either way, while the cop did not "brutally beat" the teen, he was rougher than necessary. He had back up close. He could have waiting a few seconds longer and had assistance to keep it going too far.

i sure am. You and several others are assuming the stop was unwarranted. Going into a debate with someone who refuses to believe the stop was warranted is futile.
Welp, now that we've cleared up the fact that all charges against the teen were dropped, do you care to keep your ridiculous stance?

I don't disagree, but the idea that the encounters typically start with a kind and respectful police tone is likely false.
Hell I got pulled over last week by a couple of idiots and it took all I could manage not to be rude as shite.

If by patrons you mean they were going to steal shite...

if the initial stop is bogus, fleeing that stop shouldn't be a crime, at least in a perfect world.
I know I wouldn't do it and I doubt you would either. Cop wants to be an a-hole there isn't much you can do on the scene other than comply...to do otherwise is just dumb.

Your article states the officer is still on the force.
I'm guessing the civil suit filed may explain the incident a little further because i'm just not seeing everything on the err of the officer.

If this was really the mindset, it's a good thing they're in Tacoma. Those cops would end up murdering 50% of the patrons at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta.

You're not wrong, but don't you think there is a problem when the "common sense" approach tells you to be subordinate at all times because you're likely to receive unnecessarily excessive force if you're not careful?

And people wonder why there's a "war on cops". Despicable.

Because your stance was that the officer was correct, and if that was the case, the charges against the teen wouldn't have been dropped.

Yeah, I mean he pulled over two kids on bikes in a parking lot for frick's sake.
The chances of him getting out and being cordial are slim to none.

The word brutally should be removed and resisting arrest should be added.
