it was his job. he was off duty Mall Parking lot security
And they weren't wearing helmets in accordance with Tacoma Municipal Codes. These kids were running wild and looking to start trouble.

That was horrible. Good grief I hope they take his badge away. I can't even count the many parking lots I always rode through growing up.

This. I just don't get it. It's pretty obvious that the typical cop is a dude that you know likes confrontation and being in control. Doesn't make it right but you should know if you challenge them it will escalate and be a problem. Just tell them what they want to hear and move on. Why is that so hard for some of these idiots?

How old is this person? They are probably scared, but they did stop for the police..
I didn't see her really try to flee or go nuts.. Again she was probably scared. I am impressed by the other young boy with her. He was clearly concerned.

Doesn't even mean she was going to flee.
She was extremely calm and casually all up until that..
She very well may have just been going slightly forward.. She didn't seem to really try to flee.. She was in no hurry. She barely put her foot forward. That cop seem to overreact considering the situation.

I'm not a cop lover, but do you really expect them to make a big deal out of your laptop? Take care of it yourself in the first place. Call them and let them know the serial # so you can reclaim it if it turns up, but don't expect much else.
I had a laptop stolen from inside my home and didn't even call the police.
Would be a waste of time and resources.
It doesn't make a lot of sense to be a cop hater AND expect them to handle your petty theft case which was probably one of dozens or hundreds in their jurisdiction that day or week.

The charges against her were resisting arrest and assaulting an officer . If she is not being detained or arrested for anything, how can she resist.
Had they also included charges for riding without a helmet (apparently an actual law according to someone else in the thread) and what appears to have been blowing through the stop sign (blurry at the beginning of the video), then I would agree that the Judge may have threw them out because of political pressure. However, without any other charges attached to the resisting & assaulting, I don't see how any of this could have stood with or without video.
