I'm sure the baws will rain downvotes, but I have a pair of Coasta's and while they are fine sunglasses, I don't find them to be significantly better than cheaper brands.

I bought a pair of Shady Rays ($45) as kind of a knockaround pair because I wanted a different style than my Costas, but didn't want to pay $200 for them. Frankly, I find myself wearing the cheaper glasses FAR more often and there is zero noticeable difference in the vision quality between the two. And I have worn both pairs while fishing numerous times.

The kicker is that the Shady Rays have a lost/broken warranty where they will replace my glasses up to two times even if I break them. For any manufacture defects there is a lifetime replacement warranty

I got a pair of Fantails and a pair of Rincons I keep on my boats. They are absolutely amazing and make a great product. You really can’t beat their customer service. I still have a pair of Maui Jim’s left but after my first pair of Costas I got, Ive never thought of buying anything else.

Ray Ban make good sunglasses but Costas polarized lens are far superior

This used to be my line of thinking until I used a pair of Maui Jim’s. They were exponentially better then I got a pair of Costas and they are, IMO the best. It’s a huge difference from some of the cheaper brands. We do a ton of saltwater fishing so they’re well worth it to me.

ETA: you getting too old Winston

Costas are crap.

Costa Del Mar’s were good glasses.

Buy RCI Optics and you won’t have to worry about sending your products in for warranty repairs.

I have a pair of black Ray bans . Set them on the bar on the back patio . Picked them up later and noticed something on the lens. Like small drops of dried liquid . Tried to clean it with alcohol wipes to no avail . Now the lens are ruined. Don’t have a clue what it was .

Sunglasses literally cost these companies less than $1.00 a pair to manufacture. They can afford to fix them every year for as long as you live.
I can guaranfrickingtee you that the Costa 580 glass lenses do not cost $1.00 to manufacture, you retard.

Had 3 pairs of Costas. They were ok. I now sport Maui Jims. The lenses are about the same but the MJ frame is superior in every way. Have had them for 3 years now and no issues from sweat and sunscreen like the Costas.
I have a pair of both. Maui Jim makes excellent sunglasses also and their warranty is great also.

Maui Jim doesn’t make glass lenses though. Maui Jims are fashion sunglasses, Costas are fishing sunglasses.

Jesus. One of my Ray ban lenses cracked, and I found authentic lenses on Amazon for cheaper than that and just replaced it myself.

Ray ban lenses are of laughable quality compared to costas and mj’s I have had several pairs of all of them. Ray ban make terrible sunglasses tbh. you are only buying them for the looks, which is not a bad reason but there are many other brands better at blocking the sun

Costas are fine for a beater pair or for things like fishing. But if you’re out of college and wearing Costas with a suit, it’s time to upgrade.
