I got an email today saying my pair will be fixed/replaced under warranty. I sent it to them fully expecting to get charged for the frame replacement.

I have a pair of Smiths that the lenses fell out in the water and they are giving me the run around. Will stick to Costa for baw activity eyewear.

They charge you $90 (580 glass in my experience)

Jesus. One of my Ray ban lenses cracked, and I found authentic lenses on Amazon for cheaper than that and just replaced it myself.

Yeah the 580 lenses are badass but damn it's easy to shatter a glass lens at $90 a pop...

I have some that may have been chewed on by a German sheppard. I'm wanting to send them in and see if they'll warranty them.

I'm hoping someone will chime in and say Costa covered something similar.

I’ve had several Costa lenses that delaminated and SOL with warranty. Back in the day, Academy would swap damaged Costas for a new pair.

It was $90 for both lenses.

That's too bad because Smith ChromaPop beats the shite out of any Costas I ever owned

I am always surprised by how much people beat up sunglasses. I have a pair of Revos (pre Luxottica Group) that I have had for 21 years and a pair of Persols I have had for 6 years and never had any issues with them. The only pair of sunglasses I ever lost was a pair of Vuarnet Cateyes I left on top of the locker at the gym in college.

Not the correct use of the word "literally."

Unfortunately even the OED now lists this as an informal use of the word.

I will tell you how they handled mine.

Paid $275 at Fowler Pharmacy in Greenville, SC.

3 days later I put them on first thing in the morning, took a step and heard a crunch. The left lens had fallen out and was crushed.

Went to Fowler 2 days later. They told me that I had to send them back to Costa personally. Fork them forever.

Sent them back to Costa. They sent me an email asking for money to fix. Fork them forever too.

They do have a good warranty... Also a shite product.

Maui Jim’s are far superior. Kaupo Gap is the current style I’m wearing.

Same. Never had a problem with glass. I sent some in a few years back bc of rubber falling off. My frames were discontinued so they sent me a new pair of whatever I wanted for free.

Plastic on the other hand...ordered some all black for a deployment. 1st day in Bagram, put them in a pocket that I didn't know had safety wire in the bottom. They didn't stand a chance...
