justified. shoot to kill. self defense isn't shoot to injure.
This! If it's justified, shoot until you run out of ammo.

Exactly how I see it 7thWard. There was absolutely no need to execute that dude , leaned over for the kill shot to back of the head. The threat was neutralized, you have the bigger weapon, step back after first two shots & guy is slumped over & making zero threatening gestures. I get it, "don't start nothing, won't be nothing." But that just seemed extreme.

What happens if he was already dead from the first shot? Do you get manslaughter for putting holes in a corpse?

If I'm on the jury, dude is home in time for breakfast.

Uh guy threatening to kill you, comes at you with a bat. Looks justified to me.
Shoot to kill. Don't shoot to wound

but the standing over him and shooting him in the side/back of the head is when it gets iffy.

Justice is served. When I'm defending myself I'm not going to pause and consider how many times I need to shoot someone to feel safe. Fight or flight.

Wrong. This is how you lose, and you don't want to lose.

He isn't shooting for the other mans safety or feelings. He is shooting to defend himself against an armed aggressor.
I don't give a damn how many times he shot him.

What did he pull out of his trunk? A pipe?
Anyway, you shoot until the threat is nuetralized. I agree that it's a close call here, but I wouldn't convict him.

Just took a concealed carry class. I'm interested in what led this this altercation. If the shooter did something to instigate this; it's not good on him.
That said; just watching the video only, shooter was right to defend himself and others from a situation he assumed could cause serious harm to himself and/or others.

Yep. He could've gone across the street for a steak dinner, caught a movie, then come back and put another magazine into the dude. I'd still acquit.

Do you happen to know where this happened and when?
Posted on 9/9/16 at 2:45 pm to DisplacedBuckeye
Look at it from the bat guy's perspective. I'm shot once, but I'm still alive. The guy who shot me still can shoot me again so I'm going to do whatever is necessary to not get shot again such as keep swinging the bat after I gain my composure.

it's kind of alarming how slow the guy gets back in the car while the guy is swinging

I don't care about his perspective. He initiated the situation.

I know the shooter seemed so calm, like maybe he has done this before...
The only shot that I would question is the last one.

The point im trying to make is you are going to do whatever it takes to stay alive which makes you a threat.
