We are so fricking screwed.
Seriously, is there anything besides Disney World that kids love more than free candy in general? My best friend growing up had a mother that was nuts against Halloween thinking it was Satanic, and he hated the fact that his mother didn’t allow him to go Trick or Treating with me. I’d save him some candy I got and gave him some the next day. This has to be the Top 5 things kids on average love the most:
1) Disney World
2) Candy
3) Christmas
4) Birthday Parties
5) Dressing up as their Hero
You get two out of five of those with Halloween.

Portland says high. They tend to be more fun tho just weird AF.
Yes, Portland is even worse, but Seattle still gives it a run for its money. Both have left SF in the dust since there are still actual hippies that live there.

Way crazier than SF. A few months ago when I was there, one chick claimed that 30% of the country were white supremacists and that black people are lynched by the klan on an hourly basis.
Easily. They literally believe white people across the country are on a wave of violence against black folks. They bought this lie 100%

Next thing you know, their (what's left of) police will be locking the gates of the cemeteries the next day so descendants can't white wash the family graves on All Saints Day.
While Pentecostal friends won't celebrate Halloween, isn't it a big deal south of our swiss cheese border?

Progessivism = racism
This is what real racism looks like.

I guess this means we can cancel Cinco de Mayo and Juneteenth then.

I like how they eliminate a fun event and then blame it on the black kids, most of whom are probably bummed about the decision too.

Well Día de Muertos is the next day, but yeah I’ve had plenty of Hispanic kids turn up at my house trick or treating. It’s just Halloween seems like something every kid in the world would love to do regardless of your culture. You get to dress up as your favorite hero or something scary and get shite tons of free candy.

Oh if you’re white, that’s been cancelled for you. You’re a racist if you drink tequila, wear a sombrero, eat chips and salsa, and celebrate a culture you enjoy.

My wife is a kindergarten teacher. It’s not that black kids don’t celebrate Halloween. It’s that their parents don’t even know what day of the week it is most of the time. They show up to school on holidays.

I really don’t think black parents at large have missed the memo when Halloween is.

Some people don't participate so nobody can! Woohoo communism!
Posted on 10/13/21 at 9:14 am to OMLandshark
I can’t blame them, a bunch of people running around in white sheets at night banging on doors and asking for free stuff is enough to spook anybody.

So instead of addressing the problem they just want to hide it. You know what the solution is, make sure they're more included so they don't feel "marginalized" by the holiday as they claim.
This was like when San Diego decided to go away from giving out traditional A-F grades and decided to not penalize work if it was turned in late to "combat racism." Instead of addressing the actual problem - how do they make sure minority kids perform better in schools - they just take the easy way out and change the system to try and hide it all together by getting rid of tangible metrics that makes the schools look bad.

Yeah, I’m sure black kids don’t like dressing up and getting free candy. That’s odd, because I remember lots of black kids dressing up and going Trick or Treating when I was a kid, and last year had several roll up to my door for some candy.
This. All of it.
It's amazing how hard some people will work to virtue signal.

While their friends at other schools will dress up as the Mandalorian, Cruella, Jason Rantz, or Wonder Woman, B.F. Day students will still get to celebrate something.
Instead, students will partake in inclusive Fall events like “thematic units of study about the fall.” I’m not making that up. It’s the lead event in the newsletter. They may also review “autumnal artwork” while “sharing all the cozy feelings of the season.”

Imagine being a black kid and basically getting the blame for not having Halloween at school
