Throw dudes stuff out on the street and dare him to sue.
Because the renter would find an attorney easily to take the case and he would win.

If the guy ends up hog tied and dropped off three states away naked, he may think twice about suing.

Yeah. Park about six blocks away, put on a ski mask, jump fences to get there, molotov through the window.
Only way go do it.

Sounds like the real owner should change the locks and kick the freeloader out of his house Instead of sitting in a cramped van like a cuck outside whining
I dint know why I keep reading these stories of all these pussy homeowners. Just wait for the guy to leave, break into your house, throw all of his shite out and change the locks. When the police come show them paperwork that it’s your house and when the guy complains say he has a fake lease. They will probably say it’s a civil matter and not want to get involved.
Or do the same thing, but have the homeowner write up a new lease with a friends name. The both of you break in and throw the guys shite out. And when the cops show up, show them a new valid lease with the friend signed by the homeowner. Cop will say it’s a civil matter. Just beat them at their own game.

Dont be a bitch, take your house back.

Not sure your ideas would work
But what’s to stop a homeowner from breaking down the door of the home they own, then changing the locks and repairing the door?

I don't think he tried the right dispute resolution.

No. If he can prove his lease is valid you would go to jail for trespassing and B&E. Even though he is delinquent he still has rights.
The fact that eviction hearings take 12 months in Seattle is the biggest issue.

Before having the rental removed from AirBNB, he could have taken an even more passive approach by doing a short-term rental; then squatting there himself.

Have one of his friends do it and just start making the house smell like shite and playing loud music.

Why does everyone assume 1 side(squatters) is going to work at warp speed to defend them while the other is going to take a year?
Is that really the case?

The same clowns that applaud these squatters rights laws will bitch when the rental housing market continues to get worse.

Pretty good movie was already made about this type thing.

Not bad.
Anyone wanna go to Seattle and wreck shop for a week? We can use oweo as a pinata

It’s probably easier to dispose of a dead body than deal with all that shite, not that I’m suggesting that happen.

This guy had a lease so technically he isn't a squatter. He has rights. Squatters in most states do not since they were never given permission AKA signed a lease. Some states do give squatters rights until an eviction hearing. It varies.
There are tons of pro-bono firms that will take on a renter's rights case with quickness and get an injunction until a hearing. No one is doing this for the homeowners.

doing a short-term rental;
wouldn't that be acknowledging that the squatter has a valid agreement to be there? also, who rents property with the agreement that it can be sublet? I booted a tenant out for just that a few years ago, and it was cause, per rental agreement, to forfeit the deposit

This is so far beyond my comprehension I dont understand.
It seems there would be a huge lawsuit potential to the VRBO. Making money off of something illegal seems kinda against the rules.

Unless there was a clause in the original lease saying the renter couldn't use the house as a short-term rental he is within his rights to do so until an eviction order is issued confirming the lease has been broken.
