If he had been on a motorcycle he could hang his head wherever he wanted and not wear a seat belt

Exactly my point. We saw about 392 motorcyclists riding through the park the last two days. Why don’t we make more laws to keep these guys SAFE?

But if your going 70 and get in a wreck on a motorcycle, how much did that helmet do? Not a bike rider and always wondered do you actually feel safe because you have a helmet? I can understand seatbelts on the highway but if your going 10 miles an hour in a park, it’s a little ridiculous.

The Supreme Court has not ruled on passengers providing ID like the driver. From my experience, the passengers only have to provide ID, if the police have reasonable suspicion the person committed a crime. Which the son did.

If you don’t believe you deserve a ticket. Contest it in court pretty simple. But wear your seat belt and make sure others do. Most of all don’t let people stick any body part out of the car. That’s pretty dumb to do

You sound like the guy who demands you should get a military discount from every restaurant you go to.

Keep in mind that we were driving 30 mph.

You also sound like the guy who has no idea how badly a car can frick a person up going just 5 mph.

My brother died falling out of the back of a pickup. I’m not saying it should be illegal or legal. Just be aware harmless fun can turn harmful much quicker than you expect.

I am old enough to remember before seatbelt laws.

I just view it now as a requirement to operate the car.

I've had 2 friends with serious brain injuries fooling around in vehicles in parking lots at low speeds (1 of those is a paraplegic). Ive lost a cousin who wasn't buckled driving around his neighborhood and died when the vehicle lost the road.

This isn't rocket science. It doesn't take much to damage flesh and skull. I promise you.

But not today, right? That’s like me telling the cop that I always obey the speed limit. But today I was going 80 in a 65. Buck up buttercup. Tell junior he can pop his head up thru the roof when he becomes a tank commander and fasten your/his belt. Or don’t.
But don’t bitch cause you got caught.

Oh. We are now deciding when to follow the law?

You broke the law. You know it. Stop making excuses and crying about it.

We (the citizens of the US) have collectively decided to have compulsory seat belt laws on the books. These are not suggestions or recommendations but laws. Should we enforce our laws? I’d recommend so.

The point of his post is that he opposes laws against behaviors that have essentially no impact on other people.

Also, if you’re truly all for absolute enforcement of the laws in the US, then I imagine you would support the police ticketing you every time you go even 1mph over the speed limit? Is that acceptable to you? Because that would also be an enforcement of the laws that the collective citizens of the US have agreed upon.

So would you support a ban on bicycles and motorcycles? Because those are way more dangerous.

But they do have a great impact. He isn’t self insured.

The rest of your post is stupid.
