Only the activity a person is engaged in, like riding or driving a vehicle.
That was my original point.
You have to understand safe behavior.
The behavior with a motorcycle is actually safer than the behavior with a car.

The data clearly states that driving a motorcycle has a higher risk of death
The data is clear. The risk of death is greater when the motorcyclist is hit by a car. Not the same as when hit my another bike. Not the same when a motorcycle hits a car.
The danger is the car. Car fatalities impact our average life expectancy in quantifiable measures. 40,000 deaths caused by cars last year alone.

The seatbelt law was created with the physical safety of a person in mind
Correct. Because cars are dangerous and kill. It doesn't matter if you are in an aluminum box. The cars will kill you.

Thank God many of our forebears weren’t afraid to take a little risk to better observe and explore this world of ours. We’d still be living under oppressive European monarchies as there would be no U.S.A. and the personal freedoms we’ve come to take for granted. But Hey...we would be SAFE and PROTECTED by our kings, right?
You’ve gone from a simple ticket to Mel Gibson in the Patriot in a flash. Perspective.
