I see guys that I know what they do for a living all the time that drive these damn trucks and I know there is no way in hell they are on a standard 60 month loan.

You can get a Ford XLT with a V8 for under $34k without even haggling.

My first Jeep was a base model 89 new -$8,000 or so. A stripped down 2dr Jeep starts at $27,000.

I’m getting sick of shopping around for 45k+ MSRPs for a 2018 truck or SUV. You end up financing 50+ when it’s all said and done. Car companies are getting ridiculous and gouging the hell out of the consumers who are dumb enough to pay it.
Thinking about just paying cash for a used 4Runner and rolling with it until the wheels fall off. Screw a $650 payment for 7 years. End semi-rant. Yea I’m trashy.
Think of it like you are not buying a car but are buying miles.
Are miles 0-50,000 really worth 4x more than miles 50,000-100,000?
I don't know what the real numbers are but it is something like that.

Yeah. Same here man. When it’s finally time to get a new truck, I’m going used. $45,000+ for a pick up truck? Hell no.

Almost 30 years of inflation, before we even consider that the new one is an exponentially better and more capable vehicle. Some of y'all are ridiculous.

ou can get a crew cab, V8 pickup from any of the American Manufacturers for about $30k. It really doesn't have to be ridiculous. The problem is it's so easy to say I need leather,4x4, big media screen, big tires etc and that's why so many people end up with $60k trucks.
I'm a person that agrees with the prices being ridiculous but this is very true itself. Too many people getting a King Ranch and financing it for almost a decade just so they can afford it. A super crew, back up cam, and satellite radio are all I need. I don't need heated amn seats

I'd buy new over used all day every day... I know the price issue but many "used" vehicles are just as much as new vehicles and they don't have all of the incentives. So I can walk out with a truck with 30k miles at 25k or a new truck with 100 miles for 35k... I'm taking the newer truck
It just depends. I think the biggest issue is ppl tend to get impatient during the shopping process. You can find a damn good deal you just have to take your time and look around.

I don't give a flying rat frick about anything other than mileage and utility.
A lot of people say this, but it’s funny how you can’t find anything like this on a lot. You’d think if enough people felt this way, they’d offer such a vehicle. I asked for a truck with vinyl floors and vinyl seats electric package and the dealer laughed. Told me everyone buying a truck wants the luxury package.
Those of us who want to use a truck like a truck are SOL.
I do love my heated seats tho

There's a high volume Toyota dealer in tampa that will give $5K off any 4-runner.
Pay low 30's for a 4runner and drive it 20yrs.

You need to learn negotiation skills.
