Screw ever buying a new vehicle again

I’m getting sick of shopping around for 45k+ MSRPs for a 2018 truck or SUV. You end up financing 50+ when it’s all said and done. Car companies are getting ridiculous and gouging the hell out of the consumers who are dumb enough to pay it.
Thinking about just paying cash for a used 4Runner and rolling with it until the wheels fall off. Screw a $650 payment for 7 years. End semi-rant. Yea I’m trashy.

It's crazy how much a nice truck is these days.

When trucks stopped being work/utility vehicles and instead became luxury products, the price increased accordingly. Gone are the days of a 17k Ranger with manual windows and no bells and whistles - consumers don't want it.

I just bought a new car and had no issues... for a similar vehicle I was looking at 25k at least for something under 10k miles I wanted. So I bought new and walked out with it at 31k and it was listed at 39k.

UAW's days are done. 20 years ago, a plant worker at a GM operation or affiliate would start around $20/hr. Now they start at $16/hr with significantly less benefits. I don't think labor costs are the major driver of vehicle pricing, but I'm willing to be wrong.

You can get a crew cab, V8 pickup from any of the American Manufacturers for about $30k. It really doesn't have to be ridiculous. The problem is it's so easy to say I need leather,4x4, big media screen, big tires etc and that's why so many people end up with $60k trucks.

There will be a market correction soon on trucks and suvs. There is very little material and production costs difference between a $60,000 pickup truck and a $30,000 sedan. This is all market demand pricing structure and I'm seeing more and more of the market reject the price tag on trucks and SUVs

shite, all I want is a small/mid-size utility truck with a turbocharged 4 cylinder diesel engine. I don't give a flying rat frick about anything other than mileage and utility.

Somebody’s got to pay for all these recalls.

^hell yeah.
Unfortunately the producers haven't got the memo. They have these everywhere in the world except for the US and where they have them they're extremely popular.
It's a huge hole in the American Auto market and if some manufacturer decided start producing one they would fricking clean up. Well, as long as there was a place to hang truck nuts

I'd buy new over used all day every day... I know the price issue but many "used" vehicles are just as much as new vehicles and they don't have all of the incentives. So I can walk out with a truck with 30k miles at 25k or a new truck with 100 miles for 35k... I'm taking the newer truck

Yes, but you can get a new F150 under $22k that is bigger, faster, safer, and more efficient than that $17k Ranger
Dafuq are all these downvotes for? Everything I posted is 100% fact and not in the least bit controversial. 13 idiots and counting I guess.
Make it 52. Nice.

Paid $29,500 with tax/title/license out the door (with a 7k trade in) for an 18 Silverado 18 Z71.
The MSRP is just for show. Before we started talking he already knocked 10 off.

Financing 100% Has only helped prices skyrocket.

You can still buy bare-bones trucks at a reasonable price. Most people don't want them, but they're out there.

You can still get a bare bones toyota truck for just over $20k
What caused the cost of trucks to skyrocket is the EPA fuel standards.
