People take drugs to escape reality. This “vaccine” prevents escape. It hinders no users of fentanyl from using. Show me a crackhead that will vaccinate themselves against crack.

We are the Guinea pigs.

Why would someone who wants to get high on fentanyl take a vaccine for it?

It says why in the part you quoted. To help fight to stay sober.

I have posted about it before but I hire a lot of recovering addicts from a sober living facility when I need extra labor for projects and they are there to get clean and the vast majority are there by choice and not court order.

Some of you people are fricking ignorant.

Plenty of people want to get clean but the reality is only something like 7% ever get sober and stay sober. Anything to help make recovery easier and raise that number is a good thing IMO.

Wrong, it’s called suboxone.

From what some addicts have told me suboxone sucks because it messes with your brain so much. It makes some people into zombies. That's better than dying I guess but so many taking it are miserable.

That's awesome that you hire those guys. There are some really good dudes in that environment but a hell of a lot of dirtbags too. Very glad to see you taking the risk that many people won't.

Employment is key to sobriety.

I have hired some great ones and a few of dirtbags. The dirtbags usually weed themselves out of the facility quickly. The guy that runs it is pretty hardcore and doesn't put up with much BS.

What's sad is the ones that make it months sober and are putting their life back together and something happens and they fall off the wagon.

I've never taken it but opioids were never my thing. They say that Suboxone is really hard to get off of and still remain sober. I grew up with one of the first guys in the BR area to begin taking it about 15 years ago. Only 2 clinics were prescribing it at the time. One in L.A. and one in Baton Rouge.

The guy I'm referencing is still sober today but continues to rely on his Suboxone when the demons start calling.

so like does this mean any opioid would no longer be able to be administered in a hospital setting? Seems dangerous.

This could also become a court ordered vaccine for people who are placed in drug court habitually. There are already states that have court ordered “castration” for sex offenders. This isn’t that big of a logical leap.

Those are the good houses to be in. Success stories stem from those kinds of houses. Unfortunately, some houses are ultimately in it only for the money and they'll let someone stick around with a few slips.

A zero tolerance policy is mandatory. People lives depend on it. We would put up with a lot of bullshite but if any substance of any sort entered the house or intoxicated they were out immediately. I saw many men walking from that house with their belongings in a trash bag. An addict/alcoholic can't fool another addict.

Why do they develop cures for stuff that people do bad things to get like aids and fentanyl but they refuse to attempt to help us innocent hangover sufferers?

That's what he has. He and his brother own the facility and have been doing it for 20 years. They only recently had their first OD at the facility. Some dude was working at a hospital and stole a ton of drugs and did them all at the same time. Seemed intentional.

Other than that, they don't put up with crap. He has shown up at job sites just to make sure the guys were staying straight and doing what they were hired for.

I have hired guys from a few of the Oxford houses here in the past and those places seem poorly run by comparison. They don't have nearly the same accountability that the other place has.

This reminds me of the pill they gave Hatachi in Revenge of the Nerds to win the beer chug tricycle race.

If it saves just one life then it must be worth several billion dollars invested from American tax payers

If you were out of West Monroe than I'd swear you were describing the house that I owe a huge debt of gratitude.

vaccine that blocks the euphoric effects of fentanyl

I don't think it's the euphoria that kills you.

I think it's the CNS depressant qualities that make you stop breathing that kills you.

Yes and it doesn’t work worth a frick. Nothing can stay in your bloodstream for a month

That's why people actuallybtrying to get off of it take Suboxone or buprenorphine daily.

But the shots and implants actually do work too.
