Do you call Onstar for directions for that one?

This may be random, but a drive down 1 from BR all the way to Grand Isle is an interesting full day-trip drive. I say that as someone not from the state. The first time I did it, it was like entering a world I never knew existed in the US. It's so oddly beautiful and depressing at the same time. It's like driving to the edge of the world.

To folks not from Louisiana, that drive or going down LA 46, 29, or 23 are all interesting drives. There is a beauty to the landscape.

There aren't that many but 165 north from SWLA to Monroe isn't bad. Always thought Columbia LA was a nice looking town.

Along that line, hwy 124 from Rosefield over the Copenhagen Hills to Duty Ferry. Almost like driving through the mountains in Arkansas. You top the last ridge and the Ouachita River valley is spread out below.

Bonus: you pass by the site of Jim Bowie's Relay Station, a joint where Jim Hawthorne used to perform. Unfortunately it burned several years ago.

1 mile before BR bridge in WBR east bound to College Dr will delight you with the ancient ruins of Baton Rouge…

Remnant tires on I-10 shoulders too numerous to count.

Overpass of Acadian Thruway looks like Iran’s Navy does now.

Sound walls and concrete barriers look like Mt Vesuvius coughed up soot on them for centuries.

Smiling down from Louisiana’s overlords are fresh, bright colored PI Injury Attorney advertisement signs…that compete and beam with pride.

Nice reminder that LA sucks, and too many accept it.

Enjoy!

Get on 126 at Manifest in Catahoula Parish and drive up through Aimwell and then either take it on around to Grayson, or turn on 459 or 503 and take either of those to Jena.

The Grassy Lake/Black River Levee road south of Jonesville, come out on 124 and take it on south to Larto, go around the lake and take the Vick rd on to Marksville.

Look no further than highland road from Seigen to the interstate. Prettiest stretch of road in the BR/SG area.

The White Lightning Road (LA 146) is about a 40 minute drive between Vienna and Homer.

I love going this route from Vienna out to Lake Claiborne. I’ve seen fox’s, turkeys, wild hogs, etc. along 146. While your close to the lake you may even see one of the eagles.

3PM last Friday. No construction. No wreck. Just stopping to enjoy the views and smells.

Everything TD told me about I 10 was correct from the left lane riders, shitty drivers, trash, and congestion.
