We have a rescued pit mix. Not really much "pit" in him. He's nice to us, but we know how to handle him and we take whatever precautions needed. Probably too much precaution. If everyone that owned a pit would care, there wouldn't be nearly the issue. It's just that the dogs have a "bad' reputation, hence it attracts loser owners to them, thus you get your bad case scenario.

That just sounds stressful. And there are just SO many awesome dog breeds that I’d choose from before I’d get a pit(id never get a pit).
It’s like that semi friend/acquaintance who can’t go out without getting WAY too drunk without saying ridiculous shite to women and gets mouthy with guys and all around can’t act right.
Now is this guy ever going to get TOO wild and get us jumped or arrested? I mean, probably not. But it sure as shite isn’t worth hanging out with him and isn’t even that good a time when he acts right. I’ve got plenty friends that I can relax around and not babysit.
I just don’t understand owning a pit.
