Sounds fruity. He was probably trying to get you to go to the OTHER side of Bourbon.

Not down here though. You almost never see cowboy boots, much less a cowboy hat.

I'm assuming "down here" is New Orleans, because I see this all the time in SWLA, especially rural areas.

Every wedding I go to that involves my in-laws will undoubtedly have several men wearing cowboy boots. Hell, I even see alot of boots in church on Sunday morning.

Go into any courthouse in Texas in any city large or small and at least 1/3 of every attorney has on boots. There is zero wrong with it unless your pants are too short or your boots are shite.

I honestly don't have a pair of dress shoes. If I have on pants, I have one some type of boot, and that goes for suits.

When you aim for Dallas but land on Mr. Wonder instead.

Several manager types(not sure what they are called) at the DEA Divisional office in Metairie dress exactly like that.

You know Agent Russell Vanderwerf is a snazzy dresser.

o any of you baws rock the Tony Lamas with your Sunday best?

I do wear my Tony lamas to church every Sunday with jeans and a button down, if that’s what you’re asking. I grew up in a big baptist church where brick layers and electricians wore suits to church on Sunday. Looking back I find it odd those guys dressed like that, but I guess those baby boomers were raised that way.

Should people only wear running shoes when running? Hiking boots when hiking? Flip flops at the beach? Boat shoes on a boat? Or does this only pertain to boots?

Cowboy boots aren't the same as say cleats or cycling shoes or snow boots. While they have design aspects that make them tools for a specific activity they offer other things as well which make them great for every day wear (weather/waterproof, comfort, fashion, etc)

What if they are cattle farmers and don't have a need for a horse?

Are they allowed?

I didn’t say that they had to only wear them while performing “cowboy duties”, but there are a lot of fake arse “cowboys” who have only touched a horse at a petting zoo

Some odd gatekeeping.

Like when some welder gets mad someone is wearing a carhartt jacket.

thats what im saying. zero problem with some country lawyer in swla wearing boots, obviously.

but the people who grew up in the midcities and work in downtown dallas wearing boots every day are hilarious.

I just think it’s a weird front to pretend to be a cowboy. I grew up on rural farmland, and I don’t even wear cowboy boots/hats, because I’m not a cowboy
