The media has pushed this so hard. I have literally never heard this person and now it's non stop news about her mom missing?

1) why do people watch crime shows like dateline and 48 hours?
2) the daughter has been on TV for decades and had some contentious interviews with Trump. She’s very famous.

What’s the end game here So you kidnap an old lady and she dies you get nothing out of it You want payment to return her but eventually you probably will get caught

Whoever orchestrated this nonsense… they’re in waaay too deep at this point and have gotten way too much publicity that they never intended.

They failed, and they basically have to “cut your losses” and ‘disappear’ her for good and cease all contact. And then hope to disappear and vanish themselves away in their own right to not get caught. I hate to say it, but that’s me playing detective and how these folks likely think.

I haven't clicked through this thread at all, but have folks mentioned and discussed the roofing crew? That roof is way too white and new looking to be a coincidence. Roofing individuals or family.

Edit:
Yep … I’m wrong AF. I’d just have imagined those white roofs to look much dirtier and “sootier” over time. My bad.. that’s my ignorance.

Maybe it’s a Bunny Lebowski/Fawn Knutsen situation. fricking nihilists.

Searching and draining the septic tank are things I would have expected to have already been done closer to when she went missing.

Walking the roof to look for other cameras or flood lights also seemed like it would have been done earlier.

The local sheriff screwed up the investigation from the start. I think he was even asked about releasing the house and then resealing it and if that is going to be problematic for prosecution when they catch the culprits.

My thoughts exactly.
I don't think they're expecting to find a body in the tank.
They are searching for flushed evidence but this should have been done on day 1

Never intended? They contacted the media. They kidnapped the mother of a media personality.

A simple check of Google/Apple maps satellite view over Tucson and Phoenix would do wonders for you.

I may be wrong and someone can correct me but I thought I had read that the search warrant or warrants had to be amended or changed a few times

I am not sure how that all works as I am not familiar with any of those processes

Earlier in the investigation it was reported that the neighbor told police that Nancy must've recently had her roof redone because it was "whiter than it had been previously" and that it was usually a dirtier color than that.

So the poster you're replying to is actually right in a sense.

How does a warrant work in circumstances like this? I can see going to the sisters and the likes and needing one, but who do they present the warrant to? Its the victims property and an active investigation. Wouldn't that fall under extenuating circumstances and allow them to go where they need to on the property?

Nobody has to be there for a search warrant to be valid. Say you're at work and they want to serve the cultivation search warrant they have, they don't wait around for you to show up. They just go in post the warrant somewhere prominent. In this specific case, it was on my kitchen counter, holding up my "it's all fun until the cops show up" tshirt.

The warrant is there so any evidence gathered can be admissible in court as legally obtain and documented.

Exigent... and not necessarily. It could, but it's not a carte blanche free pass for collecting/seizing evidence all willy nilly.
