So am I probably getting a foot of snow in Louisville, Kentucky or not?

Cause the local weather folks are starting to get antsy. Even the ones that aren’t all doomsday folks either.

GFS is bipolar as hell about next weekend's chances right now. Every other run is a swing from pain to just rain.

Ensembles still don't think much of the chances for South LA right now, either. This is regarding next weekend.

The video is even better.

"It's the perfect texture for running!" BAM!!!

Never gets old. Runners trying to show off in bad weather are annoying AF.

NWS in Birmingham isn't in on this game yet.
Only a slight prediction of snow in North Alabama in their coverage area.

I will say one thing. That latest run of the NAM doesn't give you the warm and fuzzies for the Atlants area. Winter weather coming and nothing but pink on the Precip Type run. Soundings there have alot of warm air aloft that will have to be mixed out to get the changeover to snow. That changeover does eventually happen, but not as quickly as you'd want to see.

Let's see what the next run gives us.

North AL mets aren't buying in yet, either. They've all struck a "safe" balance in their outlooks. 50% chance of rain Sunday afternoon with no mention of snow in the forecast blurb, but their little cloud image has a mix of rain and snow flurries.

Talk about covering all the bases....

CAD on the east side of the mountains and warm air (off ocean 1-2 degrees warmer than normal) advecting over it.

Thats how we get everyone's favorite winter weather... freezing rain.

18z NAM pushes the freezing rain a little farther into N. GA. However, the Carolinas look like they could get absolutely wrecked.

The HRRR is trying, I'll give it that. It puts more widespread snow in N. MS, too.

It also isn't quite as heavy on the freezing rain as the NAM. Still has a good area of a half inch or more.
