San Francisco’s Department of Public Health has tapped fat activist Virgie Tovar as the liberal city’s “weight stigma” czar.
Tovar, author of “You Have the Right to Remain Fat” and a “DEI” professional, announced the position on her Instagram account on Monday.

(I started to be merciful and not post a pick. But I had to see it so you do as well)

Also, she's going to die young and all the people she tells they should remain fat will die younger than they should. This is essentially assisted, slow suicide. She's encouraging people to kill themselves.

Does she make gov salary? Because if she does, I would be furious as an SF taxpayer.

It is ok to be overweight, you are still a human. No worries, your choice to live with that, but it is definitively UNHEALTHY and should not be celebrated.

What a wild societal concept.

The people who think healthcare is a human right (I'm actually somewhat sympathetic to this in a vacuum) are the same ones who will trumpet this stuff as normal and healthy.

If you want a utopian answer to healthcare woes, snuff out the glorification of this type of thing first. Bring me a pitch that looks like

- First, we bring back shaming people
- Next, we implement single payer

And I'll at least give it a listen

What’s sad is of all the stupid shite SF spends its taxpayers’ money on, this is probably at best only about top five on the very long list.

I get your point, but I'd stop short of saying it's "ok". The rate of obesity and all the problems that go along with it don't help healthcare costs get any lower. Then, people who take care of themselves ultimately have to subsidize those bad decisions.
