think the fact that we are even talking about having to "legalize" naturally-occurring organisms is bonkers.

It’s freaking stupid that a mushroom is illegal in the first place.

It’s a freaking mushroom. It’s not fentanyl

You’ve never done psychedelics if you don’t think they make you look inward.

My take on it is that it’s all perspective, and psychedelics, in the right environment and with the right guidance, can pick you up and take you out of your mind state and have you look at things from totally different viewpoints and perspectives and have you completely change your thinking because you can see it through different eyes

People are going to self-medicate no matter what program is in front of them for many reasons. Sometimes, access to the lesser of the evils could save a life.

I agree all mental health issues aren’t just people being sad there’s lots of other complex mental issues people deal with. And idk the answer to treating them. It’s complex but i just feel giving someone drugs doesn’t fix the issue. And could possibly lead to addiction, esp since a lot of people in this country struggle already with addiction. I could very well be wrong.

Yeah I get it, addiction is its own mental health issue. But some people are addicted to food. Moderation is the key to everything, but of course it's not always easy to do, and for some/many the inability to moderate is itself the mental health issue.

It’s pretty much impossible to get addicted to shrooms. Unless you are a billionaire. If you trip on 1 gram you need 2 grams to get the same high the next day, then the next day would be 4, etc. your tolerance doesn’t reset for at least a week.

Its kind of like how people talk about changing after dmt. So instead of going crazy, it actually balances people out because they have finally had a diff perspective and maybe some self reflection.

Do psychedelics really help peoples mental health?

It's a lazy approach. People that use shrooms are trying to escape reality. Instead of putting in the effort to improve themselves to make their reality better, they can take shrooms and live in a pretend world for a while.

It will be a money maker. I love mycology, and it is amazing how many times I get a DM from someone on twitter or IG wanting to sell me Psy Mushrooms. I am growing blue oyster and shiitake now. Hope to start growing lions mane after thanksgiving. Really don't understand why more people haven't gotten into this.

You couldn’t be more wrong. In order for shrooms to benefit you don’t even need to get high. You can microdose and get the same help from depression, anxiety, and change of perspective.

Taking a shroom trip which does get you high will speed along the process but you don’t even need to get high from them.
