I honestly hate the way weed makes me feel. Don't enjoy the high.

I really enjoyed micro-dosing shrooms. It was an incredible clean/fun high and I felt in full control.

I only mainly drink. The other thing I enjoyed is zero hangover!

We just were talking criminalization of various substances over the weekend and all of this is exactly my sentiments.

I find it hard to believe but maybe it does. Treating mental health with drugs is insane to me. Not saying pills are the answer either I think that’s just as dumb. But to me your just potentially getting that person to become addicted to the substance, instead of treating the issue. What happens when they come down from the high? Just get high again? If it was to deal with pain from chemo or something like that then diff story. But to treat mental health with drugs I don’t get it. I can drink a bottle of whiskey and feel better mentally but when it wears off then what?

Yup. Also, if you've never had a true psychedelic experience (shrooms, lsd, etc..) then you've never faced the truth of your very existence. Only until then, can you face those more difficult parts of how you present/conduct yourself as the human being you see yourself to be. You can make minor breakthroughs by other means, but not nearly to the level of a psychedelic experience. You can learn and grow from it, or disregard it. How you apply the results of that experience going forward will be your choice.

How do you suggest treating the issue if not with drugs? Not all mental health issues are just a case of the sads. There are legit physical/biological/chemical things that go wrong and can't just be snapped out of by thinking about things.

I don't think you understand the effect of mushrooms for a lot of people.

The effect is typically lasting and often time "profound"

"Kill the ego" is a common sentiment

I would honestly love to hear someone's opinion on why the should not be legalized.
I think the fact that we are even talking about having to "legalize" naturally-occurring organisms is bonkers.

You've also never sat in your room and wondered what all the inanimate objects talked about when you were gone or realized that the whole point of football is getting the guy with the ball (both revelations I had while on shrooms when I was young). Back in the day tripping and watching New Year's bowl game was my favorite tradition.

San Fran is basically trying to see what would happen if you took Woodstock ‘99 and made it an actual city.

Our country is mentally weak and constantly looking for a substance, person, outside influence to either take us away from reality, alter our reality, or change our reality for us rather than looking inward.

We have grown this way since the Great Depression because the vast majority of Americans had not seen real adversity and now cannot unplug from things they can’t control (news and social media addictions basically, and yes, I’m typing this on a social media site I can’t quit) and it is resulting in significantly increased anxiety, worry, and stress which kills your quality of life.

We have prolonged adolescence/childhood (I know I did) and now are shocked kids don’t want to become adults. Difficult conversations STILL stress me out but after having more of them with direct reports/co-workers and family members I realized we are all just people and there was nothing to be afraid of.

Anxiety is a disease of the mind, and your mind can fix it. It just needs fortitude, discipline, and copious amounts of sweet Colombian booger sugar

People have had mental struggles, and have been medicating with various substances, for many thousands of years. This is not a new phenomenon.
