Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

No, there's no way that's correct.

Glad you enjoy it. It's a watered down Los Angeles to me. LA has everything SD has, except different theme parks, but much more.

Dude. In-and-out CRUSHES Whataburger. Jesus, speak about your all time overrated restaurants. I'd rather eat Arby's than Whataburger.

Lived in La Jolla CA for 3 years. Every day I wake up I regret that I left. Worst decision I've ever made.

The water off San Diego is beautiful, and the coastline is second to none in the lower 48. The beaches aren't the same as gulf beaches, but I can appreciate both.

If we are talking strictly burgers.....I prefer In-and-Out to Shake Shack or Freddie's.

Shake Shack is legitimately overrated and overpriced for what you get.

Whataburger is okay. On par with but slightly better than Sonic IMO. Not as good as Wendy's.

Burger King blows. I'm not sure how they stay open. I think they'll be gone in a decade.

To the OP: San Diego is beautiful. Enjoy your time there.

San Diego is an awesome city. But best beach??? I don't know about that

IMHO it's hard to beat the Florida Panhandle beaches

The California beaches are great beaches to visit all the way up to northern Cali. But if you are talking about best sand and best water the Florida beaches are the better.

Agree. Spent almost a month doing the entire PCH. Scenery is gorgeous...but its hard to get hot enough to even WANT to go in the water until Santa Barbara and even then the water is frickin cold. Even La Jolla was pretty damn cold, but doable.

Scenery-wise and sunset wise CA beaches are pretty epic, but as far as a beach vacation....gimme FL panhandle all day.
