Sammy did not run Jason Jackson off. Jason was made a partner supposedly to the tune of 40/60 split of the profits. This was great for a few years then Jason became more involved in the books because they got rid of the bookkeeper. Jason at that point found out that the 40% he was receiving was only based off of a portion of the actual profits. Sammy was taking money off the top first then doing the 40/60 split. Jason sued Sammy and won all of the money he was owed from the time the agreement started. This is was ultimately started the downfall of Sammy’s.

I initially read this as “Sammy’s grill shutting down for Good Friday” and thought “well shite that’s the worst day of the year for a seafood place to close.”
