Agreed that the vast majority of Mormons I’ve met are genuine, good, salt of the earth kind of folks, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re cult members.

Funnily enough, I worked at a company that had an office in SLC and most people I talked to there were all “former Mormons”. They all seemed to grow up Mormon and then stopped when they moved out of their parents house.

Just marry a bunch of women. You’ll be fine.

Actually Id like to add to my earlier comment. The city is really nice , great restaurants and pretty good bars as since the olympics in Park city the town is wet. But just being based in SLC opens the door to unlimited outdoors just hours away. Utah takes years to explore and enjoy alone, if you ski its awesome. Some of the people who I worked with lived in and outside Park City and commuted. If the money is right and the fit I'd go. Not sure how old you are but if you are 20 to 40 start packing..

One of the interviewing managers told me that when it's 100 degrees in the summer that all you have to do is drive 30 minutes to Park City and it will be 75 degrees.

Pretty cool.

I had time to visit Park City.
I was told the the Alpine Loop has some amazing scenery.

What is he going to do when they look for the special Mormon underwear or ask how are your wives doing?

All I have to say is embrace the PRICIPLE. You'll be much happier when you do.

The building where I work has one mormon. He gets paid the most and has the least amount of skill. He is the butt of every joke when it's work related. Not to his face though, because we learned he is sensitive.

Job is south of SLC.

What areas would you recommend?

I'm north of SLC so could only provide you about recommendations there, but I've heard Sandy or Draper is fine.

Should definitely take the job offer since it is absolutely amazing out here. I do not miss the southeast one bit.

I’d move to SLC tomorrow if I could. Having a love for the outdoors will help.

Am I sure that the software engineering job isn't multi level marketing?

I've worked in Information Technology my entire life.
This isn't an entry level job at some yahoo startup.

So yeah, I'm sure.

Do many transplants to SLC struggle with the altitude?

It didn't bother me while I was there, although I could tell that the air was thinner.

You'll probably be treated like the Christians, Jews, blacks, queers, trans, etc etc etc.
The same.
They flew you out and offered you the job so why are you worried about how you will be treated.
You don't sound smart enough or mature enough for whatever this job is.
Wow.

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

There are quality responses from people who live quality lives with careers and bright futures.

Then there are the hate filled idiotic responses from the low brow losers who live miserable lives full of failure and regret.

Don't take it out on me, just go kick your cat and have another beer.

Good use of bold. I may try that in my next get off my lawn post. I have never been to SLC, only Southern Utah so no comment on that.
