First time we've got some convection wrapped around the north side of the center.
Recon VDM pinned it just north of the last NHC fix and pretty much captured by this recent convective burst.

This is going to Mississippi. I think Nola is going to dodge another one.

NWS New Orleans
@NWSNewOrleans
The NOAA Weather Radio transmitter in New Orleans has been expedited for broadcast restoral with our telephone provider. We are working diligently to get the broadcast up and running by later tonight or very early Mon morning. Thank you for your patience. #lawx

Is that a wobble?
Center got drug a little NNE by the convective burst. Not a traditional wobble, but a feature of it trying to organize tonight.

So there shouldn’t be any reason for this thing to shift back west. It’s all east from here on right?

So even though all news stations say it’s coming right for Nola, y’all are saying it’s going for Mississippi now?

It's all a game of timing to me. It's how far west it gets tomorrow. The trend is slower now, so east.
Don't discount the west possibility because this ridge that should guide it tomorrow is subtle and may be underdone on the models that could get it farther west.
I do think west shifts are less likely vs east ones, just don't call victory just yet.

Fox 8 just showed consensus going to Biloxi.

Which provides a better news story? A hurricane heading directly to NOLA or A hurricane is heading to Ocean Springs? Just saying

It seems like this time yesterday the opposite was true.

1) I hate it for those that will get it but Louisiana can’t handle another one right now
2) I’m glad we had to change our beach plans to a later date for non-weather reasons. We’d have been in orange beach.

What generally occurs more in models, ridges being underdone or overdone?
