Will a cat 1 really knock out power that easily in NOLA?

This HWRF stall is eye opening.

The storm actually backs up ESE between 27 and 30 hours...

Is that a glitch?

I think it more just an illusion of where the L is shown. It's just stalled.

Which signals the coming north turn in this case. It's follow the same expected path so far, it's just farther east when it does it.

What is the status of the hurricane containment structures?

At the mouth of Mr. Go?

To stop inflow at the Rigolets?

Did something get built at the mouth of the Pearl River?

Something to protect Madisonville?

HMON - Biloxi

HWRF and GFS - Gulfport

Euro (12Z) - Just west of MS river

Maybe one of the pros with access to the 18Z Euro can share it when it comes out in the next few minutes.

Flooding from rainfall still looks like a big problem, even pretty far inland.

I guess you didn't look at the forecast track in the OP.

I’m not really seeing this storm get her act together.

Like she’s chasing her tail.

Is this false hope?

Crazy right on the line of orange and red there is a 10 inch difference in rain totals within 20 miles

looking like 8-10” rain and many hours of high winds for all of NOLA metro and the north shore whatever winds up happening. That’s going to leave a pretty big mess and presents many dangers

As the sun sets, watching this new convective burst northeast of #Sally's center. If this can wrap around more toward the west and/or pull Sally's center underneath of it, it would be the first sign of additional strengthening.

A full 24 hours over warm water with light shear still lay ahead. Today was a good day though.
