My inlaws in orange beach just texted me to tell us to evacuate Nola area to come stay with them

Shows how strong the Nola reference is for maiN media channels(thats all they watch)

As bad as things may get for coastal areas it's looking like the worst case scenario might be avoided with the heaviest rain potentially staying offshore. I don't think it needs to be dumbed down for anyone what 20"+ of rain with a landfalling hurricane could've done to portions of SE Louisiana.

This was from the 10am update.

The Lake Borgne area is just incredibly prone to surge due to the geography. Those consistent east winds are already stacking water at Shell Beach:
