I don't think it needs to be dumbed down for anyone what 20"+ of rain with a landfalling hurricane could've done to portions of SE Louisiana

Okay thanks.

I’m on the Amite in Maurepas. Hoping we don’t see 4 - 6 ft.

The water has actually fallen about an inch or two since this morning.

Thus the question about the direction of the water push.

Wilfred. Sigh.

The NHC naming process is the polar opposite, yet equally as comical, as the modern basic white woman naming process.

That’s the peak surge. Expectations are a decent amount below that.

I’ve always been surprised that a big city like Mobile manages to miss so many major hurricanes. I can’t recall a disastrous event there like we have seen with Katrina in NO or Harvey in Houston. Tampa seems to fare pretty well too

Frederic in 1979 was bad in Mobile. Dodged a bullet with Ivan in 2004.

Tampa has been very very fortunate over the years.

With these storms I have noticed you almost want to be the forecasted landfall when it’s like 5 days out. I knew once New Orleans was where they said sally was going to make landfall I knew it going to go somewhere else. Same thing happened with Laura but it shifted way west.
