This is once again another nothing burger for New Orleans. Schools should be open. We may see some light rain showers.

I have a friend that lives and teaches around Gulfport. They told them they're having school today with a one hour release and they're expected to engage in virtual Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.

If this storm moves 20 miles west New Orleans is going to get dumped on with rain. It would be completely ridiculous to put kids in the situation of being stuck at school.

Possibly a very mild impact on nola.

Looking past Sally, the week will be awesome. Highs in the lower 80’s and mid 60’s for lows!

Nice

Yeah I’m completely fine with schools erring on the side of caution with this stuff, it’s slightly annoying but the other side would be a total panic

Pensacola public schools are closed, I got the call last night two hours after the first call saying that school was open.

The inflexibility is what gets me.

My kids school announced Sunday that schools closed Mon-Wed.

Absurd. By Tuesday afternoon it will be obvious school can open Wednesday.

My kids school in Covington announced on Saturday that school would be closed Monday through Thursday for the last hurricane. It was insane, I think we got a total of 2” of rain for the week.

I think everyone who is upset about school closing should just send their kids to school anyway

Once they close for multiple days, they never rescind the decision if the threat of inclement weather dissappears.

So far, my kids school (also Covington) is open today, closed tomorrow and Wednesday will be assessed tomorrow.

I fail to see how that HMON materializes. Sally hasn’t strengthened at all overnight, she is running out of time.

Might make it to a weak Cat 1, if that. More of a rain event than anything

Not true. For Marco the archdiocese in New Orleans was supposed to be closed Monday and Tuesday but when it cleared up they had school Tuesday
