West? Wouldn’t that mean it gets tugged more west? Or is it East?

When do they expect it to get its act together? You'd think if this thing was going to intensify it would have already started by now.

I don’t think people realize how slow this this is supposed to move. It’s not supposed to get to the Mississippi coast for another 40 hours, so it still has plenty of time. HWRF this morning calls for it to get down to 965mb and 92 kt winds.

Certainly not comparing the two but in 2015 Hurricane Patricia's winds went up 120 mph in 24 hours so 40 is a lot of time to get to a high Cat 1 or Cat 2.

New Orleans was not forecast even yesterday to have poor weather until Mon evening at the earliest. Nola metro schools should be open today but with an excused absence if people want to use it. That is what my kid’s school in Met did.

Teachers aren’t babysitters. Schools should open or close. If it is close enough a call for it to be optional, teachers should be able to be prepping as well.

I’m in Baldwin county. If the eye comes our way I may try and stream some chase footage. Hoping it doesn’t strengthen tho

This storm had so much possible error in it this just reminds us even today how unpredictable they can be. A 50 mile shift makes a colossal difference on impacts.

Besides teachers, what other workers got off in the Nola area all day to "prep"?

Not any medical personnel, accountants, engineers, or any other degreed professionals.

What makes them so special?

I think school should be open, I just dont understand the “optional” school day thing. Open or close.
