Been using a merkur for years. Is there a good one with that pivots as the disposables do?

No.

Google Barbasol Floating Head razor. It’s rare and old and expensive. Don’t know what “float” meant.

Why do you use these razors novelty? Or do they really shave well?

I've been using one for the last 5 or 6 years. Slant bar merkur, Proraso, boar brush, feather blades. I'll spend around 15 bucks a year on shaving.

You'll slice the shite out of yourself if you get into a hurry though.

Find a nice gillette adjustable on ebay. If not, get a Rex Ambassador.

Only one I can think of off-hand is the Leaf. It's basically a Mach 3 that uses your own blades.

Youtube it and you'll find videos.

I have three areas that are hard to get to, one is on the side of my mouth on the left side........I thought I was going to bleed out about two weeks back.

I have been VERY careful since that little incident

I buy, sanitize, and restore old Gillette safety razors. I've sold nearly every one I've had, especially adjustable types. Alot of people like them, but I couldn't tell you how good they are. I have a beard and the only thing I despise more than shaving is fighting a freshly washed fitted sheet onto a bed.

That's a cool thing to do. Pics, please, of the safety razors that you have freshened. Thank you.

I've shaved with just about every type razor over the years and actually started off with the old standard safety razor with the double sided single blade.

I've done multiple bladed razors and a couple electric shavers that have all gone the way of the dodo.

I even went as far as to get into shaving with an old style straight razor and it gave an excellent shave but it does take a bit more time and prep work to do it well, along with knowing how to keep the blade shaving sharp.

For the past 20 or so years I've gotten back into the plain single blade safety razor and get excellent shaves with them. A lot has to do with the type blades used as all safety razor blades are not of the same quality.

My rig is the Merkur safety razor coupled with Feather blades that I have bought in bulk and haven't had to reorder in a couple years. I do not shave every day and will alternate between bearded and shaved at various times a year, so it's not an everyday thing for me.

I met that guy once. I had stumbled into his shop in Austin. He had a great aftershave balm with peppermint oil in it.

I found out from a barber not far from his shop that he ended up committing suicide.

It’s more about the sharpness of the blades themselves... I’ve had incredible luck with Harry’s... they’re really legit.
